Music Coordinator
(Part-Time)
Reports to: Pastor
Status: Part-time (approx. 6 to 10 hrs / wk)
Schedule: Sunday mornings (~9 am to noon), Monday staff meetings (10:00-11:30), rehearsals, and special services.
Role Summary
The Open Door Church is seeking to hire a Music Coordinator to oversee and develop the church’s music ministry. This includes planning worship music, scheduling and mentoring musicians, managing audio equipment, and leading worship regularly. This role combines musical leadership with technical oversight to support vibrant, Christ-centered worship.
Key Responsibilities
Worship Planning: Select and coordinate music for weekly and special services in partnership with Pastor & Worship Team
Scheduling: Recruit, schedule, and support vocalists, instrumentalists, and bands; distribute music and rehearsal materials in advance
Mentorship: Develop worship leaders and musicians through coaching and training
Audio Oversight: Maintain and operate (or schedule volunteers to operate) the church’s sound system, soundboard, and audio hookups
Worship Leadership: Responsible for leading worship or scheduling volunteer worship teams to lead worship every Sunday
Administration: Manage music library & Sunday materials (e.g., slides, bulletins, etc.)
Qualifications
Proficiency & experience in leading worship
Strong organizational and leadership skills
Fluency with Google Suite, particularly Google Slides
Basic knowledge of audio systems and sound mixing
Ability to mentor volunteers and work collaboratively
Spiritual maturity and alignment with the church’s mission and beliefs
Compensation & Benefits
$25 per hour for up to 10 hours per week
20 hrs/year of PTO
